So I like a good guitar or mariachi mass as much as the next person. But really, listen to these chant settings for the new mass translation, courtesy of the Church Music Association of America. Nothin’ says Four Last Things like gregorian chant.

Thanks for this link, I had a nice listen-around. All of the Latin stuff we sing at our (English) Mass sounds like these pieces already. I suppose that makes sense, we aren’t getting a new Latin translation.
Yeah I know, isn’t that great? We sing the Agnus Dei in Latin at every (English) Mass. To the point that I have to ask the CCD kids if they’ve ever heard it in English. And sure enough, turns out the chanted version on that site is the one we’ve been using. Who knew.
